Principal s Message
I would like to welcome all our students, community members, and staff to the 2025/2026 school year. This will be my second year at this wonderful school, and I am looking forward to another fantastic school year.
West Boron believes that we need to provide opportunities to prepare our students to be lifelong learners. We believe that a happy child is a successful one. We are committed to providing a positive, safe, and stimulating environment for children to learn, and where all are valued. We intend that all children should enjoy their learning, achieve their potential, and become independent lifelong learners.
During this school year, we will continue to work on our two main priorities: Priority 1) Are our students alright, and Priority 2) Can our students read? These priorities will guide us through this year as we focus on attendance, social and emotional learning behavior, engagement with school, and reading.
To prepare our students for the future, they need to be present both mentally and physically to learn. Part of this is making sure they are attending regularly at school. This fits our first priority. Students need to be actively engaged with their learning by being given multiple ways to interact socially and cognitively. The question we need to ask is, "Are you here and ready to learn?"
Reading is a fundamental building block for learning. Students are expected to read every subject at school, including Math. If we do not give our students the tools to succeed, we are hindering their academic and social growth to be successful in their future endeavors.
Again, I am excited for another rewarding and successful school year.
Thank you,
Richard Little, Principal West Boron Elementary School
