Principal’s Message

I would like to welcome our students, parents, community members, and staff to our 2024/25 school year.  I am excited and honored to be chosen as your principal for this amazing school, and I look forward to meeting and working with everyone as we make West Boron Elementary School a place to grow and learn.

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Richard Little, and I bring over 32 years of experience in education.  During my years in education, I worked as a teacher, curriculum coach, coordinator, reading specialist, and administrator.  I look forward to my next adventure as your site administrator of this amazing school and community.

During this school year, we will focus on two main priorities: Priority 1)  Are our students alright, and Priority 2) Can our students read?  These priorities will guide us through this year as we focus on attendance, social and emotional learning, behavior, engagement with school, and reading.

Our students need to be present both mentally and physically to learn.  Part of this is making sure they are attending regularly at school.  This fits with our first priority.  Students need to be actively engaged with their learning by being given multiple ways to interact socially and cognitively.  The question we need to ask is, "Are you here and ready to learn?"

The second priority is a fundamental building block for learning.  Students are expected to read every subject at school including Math.  Our students need to read to become active members of society and lifelong learners. If we do not give our students the tools to succeed, we are hindering their academic and social growth to be successful in their future endeavors.

Again, I am so excited to be here with all of you, and I look forward to a very successful and rewarding school year.

Thank you,

Richard Little, Principal West Boron Elementary School
